This is such a common sight. I've seen this at least 7-8 times in my adulthood. Scary.

I always enjoy the people who are riding on the interstate on a scooter that's not street legal (has no license, headlamps, not a big enough engine). Once when I lived in Louisville, KY there were TWO people on a single-person scooter, at dusk. They were going 40MPH in the middle lane during rush hour. They wore helmets. ...most bizarre thing ever.

I got the royal screwing from an attorney I hired from this supposed “top notch” divorce law firm in Albuquerque, NM… I haven’t been able to get any resolution or any help with the issues this attorney has caused me due to his “non” handling of my divorce case. It’s sad to SEE that in today’s world there is NO justice!! I’m just an “average citizen” with NO VIP status or wealth and have found myself having to eat what this lawyer did and deal with it, which I should NOT have to…I was not provided competent representation and my rights by law were not sought which violates my constitutional right.

I would like to know what answers you have or could provide for “people” in my situation that were misrepresented and have no way to seek “justice” ..This kind of abuse from lawyers should be legal fraud because the consumer has no way to get anything rectified, unlike getting a refund or a credit or calling a supervisor!! I filed a complaint with the bar association which I have discovered that most of the members of this “law” firm sit in the chairs on the board.. So what then????? Does anyone know???

Hi there,

Found your site after a search for the "peaceful occupy" ordinance of Pacific Grove in reference to the monarch butterfly.
I just returned from visiting Pacific Grove with a group of educators and I am gathering notes for a presentation.

You can only imagine my surprise to see not a monarch image on your site, but that of a viceroy!

I can see that Jacqui Knight noticed also. If you need a nice photo of a monarch, I will gladly supply you with one, so as not to confuse searchers when they land on your site.

Hmm, wish I had a better explanation, but ignorance of the difference is the most accurate one. Thanks for pointing out the error.

Why didn't you use an image of a Monarch butterfly with this story?

The image you have chosen (captioned "Don't mess with me when I'm on vacation, man.") is that of a Viceroy (Limenitis archippus).

My cousin, let's call him P-Funk, actually broke both of his legs because he fell off his bicycle due to running into something exactly like what is in this picture. The city had not bothered to put up a warning notice or sign anywhere cautioning pedestrians and bikers of the enormous and potentially injurious gaping void in the pavement, and on his way to the gym, P-Funk ran right over it (or into it) causing him to flip completely over the handlebars and sustain two broken legs, a back injury, and head trauma. Thankfully he was okay after extensive medical care, but needless to say this was a tort in waiting, and sue he did! Oh, did I mention this happened in Lauderdale? Coincidence? P-Funk's little mishap occurred in 2007 or 2008; sounds to me like Ft. Lauderdale didn't learn its lesson the first time around since it had to be warned to improve this condition years after the accident.

It is funny anyway. Most of the people are set up so what do you do just get an agreed contract with whom ever you are interested in so there will not be misunderstanding
